The Artek 611 chair is one of the first pieces of furniture designed by Alvar Aalto and has remained in production since its birth. The chair, designed in 1929, underwent a renewal in 2019 thanks to a two-color belt braid and a new seat height. The fresh, multidimensional color palette of saddle belt braids is the work of Hella Jongerius. Thanks to the linen belt weaving that adapts to the sitter, the 611 chair guarantees a pleasant sitting experience.

Artek was founded in 1935 to sell and market furniture designed by Alvar Aalto . Artek's founders Alvar and Aino Aalto, Nils-Gustav Hahl and Maire Gullichsen published a manifesto drawn up in the spirit of functionalism, according to which Artek's purpose was "to trade in furniture and to promote modern housing culture through exhibitions and other means".
