Artek 400, nicknamed the Tank Chair, is a timeless design classic designed by Alvar Aalto in 1936. The recognizable look of the armchair is built on wide bent birch armrests, an upholstered seat and backrest, and a carefully finished structure. The pair of armrests, cut from a single piece of birch laminate, age in the same way, and the chair will not wobble over time. The spacious seat and high backrest make it a comfortable place to relax, both at home and in public spaces.

The Zebra upholstery completes the look of the Artek 400 armchair with one of Artek's most famous textiles. The Zebra wool fabric, discovered by Aino Aalto in the 1930s, combines a soft surface and a recognizable black and white pattern.
