The Louis Poulsen PH 5 320 Opal is a refined version of Poul Henningsen's classic lamp, combining the familiar PH 5 design with the soft light of an opal finish. Henningsen designed the original PH 5 pendant lamp in 1958 with the aim of creating pleasant and glare-free lighting regardless of the light source used.

The multi-layered shade structure of the PH 5 320 Opal is based on Henningsen's reflective three-shade system. The opal shades allow some of the light to pass through while directing light downwards. The result is an even, warm light that softly illuminates the surroundings without strong glare.
