The Artek E60 stool is a four-legged stool designed by Alvar Aalto in 1934. The four legs provide extra stability to the stool, making it ideal for dining areas, workstations, and other everyday seating solutions. Its clean design and high-quality materials make it a timeless part of any interior.

The padded Zebra upholstery adds seating comfort and brings Artek's well-known black and white pattern to the stool. The Zebra wool fabric, discovered by Aino Aalto in the 1930s, gives the classic stool a recognizable look.

In the late 1920s, architect and designer Alvar Aalto began experimenting with bending wood. Together with furniture manufacturer Otto Korhonen, Aalto developed a groundbreaking process that resulted in the L-leg. The iconic leg is created by cutting slits into a piece of wood below the bending point, into which wooden slats are glued. Aalto called the L-leg the "little sister of the architectural column." Long-standing traditions in furniture production were interrupted when Aalto patented the technique in 1933. Durable and sturdy furniture was now made from warm, organic wood material.

Artek was founded in 1935 to sell and market furniture designed by Alvar Aalto. Artek's founders, Alvar and Aino Aalto, Nils-Gustav Hahl and Maire Gullichsen, published a manifesto written in the spirit of functionalism, according to which Artek's purpose was to "engage in the furniture trade and, through exhibitions and other means, promote modern housing culture."
