Artek A440 pendant lamp opal

Artek A440 is a sculptural lamp designed by Alvar Aalto in 1954. The lamp, made of mouth-blown glass with a matte surface, filters the light evenly and without glare. The A440 lamp is a beautiful variation of the popular "Golden Bell" lamp. Unlike Golden Bell, which directs light downwards, the opal glass hanging lamp also illuminates to the sides and up. Artek was founded in 1935 to sell and market furniture designed by Alvar Aalto .
