Hanna Korvela – Finnish master of sensual textile design
Hanna Korvela is a Finnish textile designer, known for her hand-woven rugs and her sensory-based design philosophy.In 1994, she founded Hanna Korvela Design Oy, whose products combine Scandinavian simplicity, ecology and high-quality natural materials.The company's best-known product is the Duetto rug, made of cotton and paper twine.This rug received international recognition by winning the Red Dot: Best of the Best design award in 1997. In 2018, Woodnotes acquired the business of Hanna Korvela Design, and today many of Korvela's rugs are manufactured by Woodnotes.Korvela has received several awards during her career, including Young Entrepreneur of the Year and the Fennia Prize.
