The Louis Poulsen VL Ring Crown floor lamp is a tribute to the original VL Ring Crown series, which has a history of over 80 years. The VL Ring Crown lamps are part of a series designed by Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen, which includes a pendant lamp, chandeliers and wall lamps. The lamps were designed for the headquarters of the Danish radio company Radiohuset, which was inaugurated just after the end of World War II in 1945.

In keeping with the original design and materials, the VL Ring Crown floor lamp is made of polished brass and features glossy, mouth-blown, three-layer opal white glass shades, and beautifully complements the lamps originally installed in Radiohuset. Vilhelm Lauritzen also designed the VL 38, VL Studio and VL 45 lamps for Radiohuset.
