The Louis Poulsen PH Snowball pendant lamp provides a pleasant and glare-free diffused light. The matt painted lower surfaces and glossy upper surfaces reflect the light in a subdued manner and distribute it evenly around the lamp. The glossy upper side of the lampshades gives the light a beautiful, sparkling effect. The matt underside of the lampshades, in turn, prevents any uncomfortable glare from the light source. Carefully considered details and the direction of the light beautifully emphasize the shapes of the lamp when it is on.

The new shade "Dusty blue" launched in 2025 is inspired by Poul Henningsen's home, where the walls were painted in bold colors. Originally, PH Snowball was launched together with PH 5 and PH Artichoke, but for some reason it did not receive much attention at the time. However, with the product development and relaunch in 1983, the situation changed and since then PH Snowball has achieved great popularity in various countries.

The PH Snowball pendant lamp is considered a smaller version of the elaborate PH Louvre lamp designed for the Adventist Church in Skodsborg. The PH Snowball has a total of eight shades of different sizes and they are attached to three brackets. The diameter of the lamp is also smaller than the PH Louvre, which is intended for higher spaces.
