The Louis Poulsen PH 80 was originally a table and floor lamp designed as a tribute to Poul Henningsen, one of Denmark's most renowned designers, particularly renowned for his work in the field of lighting. The PH 80 was designed in 1974 after Henningsen's death as a tribute to him on what would have been his 80th birthday.
The original PH 80 is part of Henningsen's renowned PH series, and follows his principles of creating glare-free lighting with multi-shade designs. The PH 80 table lamp is both practical and aesthetic. It provides a pleasant, warm and indirect diffused light, making it suitable for both private homes and work spaces.
The table lamp, with its rather large shade diameter of 500 mm (the same as the floor lamp), has been discontinued, while the floor lamp has been in the collection for 50 years. In addition to the classic version with a red top, a black and a completely white version were also released a few years ago. The new PH 80 table lamp and PH 80 Portable table lamp are scaled-down versions of the original table lamp.
