Parolan Rottinki

Parolan Rottinki is a family business whose story began in Parola by Aulis Herranen and his wife Toini. The couple started making rattan furniture together, and after the business boomed, the company had thirty employees at its peak. The business flourished until 1986, when the Indonesian government even banned the sale of rattan raw material abroad under the threat of the death penalty. Behind the ban was the wish to employ citizens of one's own country.

A difficult time began in the history of Parola Rottinki, and in 1987, Aulis Herranen, who founded the company, died of an illness. After this, the entrepreneurial couple's daughter Anitta took on even more responsibility for the company with her then-spouse. Through trial and error, the company finally managed to find a good and reliable partner in Indonesia. Thanks to this, Parolan Rottinki's operations could continue with the import of high-quality rattan products.
